January 1 - Super Saturday - Day #1

5pts: Print or buy a 2011 calendar for your CTMH events/schedule Make sure to choose a style that works for you! I personally have a school year calendar - July 2010 to June 2011 At-A-Glance - month tabs with week by week where you can write in details on each day.  Works great for me - I like to see my month at one time.  I am still a printed calendar girl.  If you use an electronic calendar - print January-March.

Respond: Comment on today's blog post your calendar "style" and why it works for you!

10 pts: Mark your calendar with personal/family dates for first quarter (January-March). Record all of your family commitments. Plan as far out as you can with children’s activities, church, volunteer, family time.

Respond: Comment on today's blog post about your calendar....pretty full? Lots of space?

20 pts: Mark your calendar with the training & events for 2011 include heARTS4Him & Connected Hearts (Naomi's) team meetings, Convention, Leadershare (if you are attending) and Stamp Camp!

Respond: Comment on today’s blog post a topic or technique you would like to learn in an upcoming team training.

30pts: Select date(s) for Spring/Summer 2011 New Idea Book event. Personally, I have scheduled mine for the first part of February - it works better for me to be able to have time to order new product and make new artwork samples.  Planning the event is just part of the challenge - the other part is to set a goal for your event. Your goal can be a sales goal, number of bookings, number of new guests, number of workshop sign ups, number of class sign ups, etc.

Respond: Comment on today's blog post your event date with your goal for the event.

40 pts: Determine open dates for gatherings/workshops for January-March. With the days that are left, highlight all in one color, the days that you want to conduct Gatherings. Highlight the top half of the day if you are available in the daytime and the bottom half if you are available in the evening. Highlight your available days for January - March.

Respond: Comment on today's blog post three to five dates you have set aside for a gathering or workshop during the months of January-March.

50 pts: Finalize your event details and create an email invititation to market your event. Send to your customers by e-mail or using an e-mail newsletter format.  Personally, I am starting to use MailChimp - they have a free account for up to 1000 e-mail addys.  This also seems pretty easy to use!

Respond: Send me an invite (ScrpnChris@comcast.net)!

"See" you tomorrow!

Chris

  1. I now use the Journey to Director planning book for my calendar. I use to use a 12" flip monthly calendar that easily got tore up after a few months from all the use. I think this one will work much better, it's more compact, and I can track my sales along with my bookings easily.

I bought all my team members a personal calendar for New Years so they should all be set for this first challenge!!!!

  2. I use a large, spiral bound calendar (family_time.mine) with a monthly page & week by week. I put all things on this calendar, family, school, work, sports, appts, ctmh... I've tried separate systems, but I always have issues remembering everything. Years ago I used a "palm pilot", now I'm back to pencil & paper! ( o: I put a letter for each person with a circle around it so it is easy to figure out what item is for who!

  3. I use a 3-Ring binder day-by day calendar to keep track of all of my family's activities. I used to try to use my phone calendar, but I find that it is easier to see everyone's activities at once plus I can take it with me to gatherings and show customers what times I have available. I also use it to keep track of my mileage. I make a note of my starting and ending mileage on each business related activity so that I have all of that info in one place as well. :)

  4. Ok, I filled out my calendar with all the activities etc. that are scheduled right now for my family for the next three months and I seem to be available on a lot of Thursdays and Fridays, so I guess that that will be when I have my open booking dates! :)

  5. Okay, I have been thinking about what technique/ topic I would like to learn more about at a team meeting and I guess I would LOVE to get more patterns - either papercrafts or old ones like 10 from 1 etc. I don't have many of those and am always looking for "new" things to teach my customers. I would also love to see us discuss what would be best to cover in a "basic" or beginners scrapbooking class. I have thought about offering a beginning class, but am not really sure what I need to cover in the class.

  6. Okay, my calendar is all filled out and I am ready to schedule my Close TO My Heart events. I have scheduled my New Idea Book Celebrations for both January 29th and February 4th. I have two goals for these events: 1. I want at least 2 gathering booked & 2. I would like to have sales of at least $250 (I need to get lots of bookings and sales because there is WAY too much in the new book that I want to add to my collection!! :-) ) I have the following dates open for bookings at this point: January 23rd, February 20th, February 24th, March 3rd, March 4th, March 11th. Here's hoping!! :)

  7. Wow! I have my family calendar up to date! I was waiting for basketball schedules to come out for the next couple of months! That really changed my regular routine for scheduling events. It is great to see it all planned out. I also have all CTMH events. I never have done this for a full year in advance. Usually I look 6 months out at best. This will help me to be able to attend more team functions! Hopefully. ( o: Now I need to plan my upcoming events - dates.

  8. I have scheduled my calendar for two new idea book events - one in the evening & one in the morning. February 1st & 5th. I'm hoping to catch a variety of people that way. I have a goal of at least 10 people for each event! That will be a huge accomplishment the way things have been going. ( o: I would like to get a minimum of 2 bookings from each for 4 for the month of February! Not much for some of you, but lots for me! I've also blocked out the 18th for a possible Kids' Day, since there is no school. If I get this planned I would like to get at least 5 kids scheduled at the events. Not sure of the exact plan for it yet. Also put my card club on the calendar for February 24th.

  9. I printed out a calendar for Jan, Feb, & Mar so I could cross off whole or part days & highlight with available days. This will be just for me for planning purposes & open date card prep. It is easy to see what days can work & what days won't without marking up my daily calendar.
I only have 7-8 days open in January. I also I'm looking into another Kids' Day for the 17th or 28th as they are no school days. Still need my idea for this to clarify - open to your input... ( o: I have 11 dates open in February for bookings, 2 dates for New Idea Book Event, 1 for Kids' Day & 1 for my card club. Hopefully, those dates will get booked at my events or before. I have 14 days open for bookings & one for my card club. I have blocked out spring break & still have 14 openings! I can't work all of those days, but they are available at this time. The kids don't have much scheduled yet either.

  10. I sent an evite for my New Idea Book Events in February! I like using evite for parties, haven't used it for ctmh events. It will be interesting to see how well it works!

  11. Awesome job ladies! I have to admit - this is my favorite thing to do - I LOVE to plan and LOVE to orgnanize but then not so good with the follow through. I always have good intentions but then get lost in the every day. My New Idea Book celebrations are Saturday, February 5 and Thursday, February 10. My goal is to contact former club members. Good luck!
