10 pts. Watch Marquee Messages – “Spray Pen Unplugged”. This new tool is a blast! To control the spray area from getting messy, I used one of our boxes that are about 13x13 that open in the center. Use the top of the box as sides when you are spraying - works like a charm!
Respond: Post on the blog how you used the spray pen. If you have a photo, email it to me and with your permission, I will post it on the blog.
20 pts each - Watch Training Academy – Continuing Education – “Getting to Know Studio J” and “Marketing Studio J”
These courses are fabulous and help you to look at Studio J in different lights and how others might use them.
Respond: Post on the blog how you plan to market Studio J.
30 pts each - Listen to Listening Library “How to Attract More Customers, Hostesses & Consultants" by Casey Spinks and/or (another Listening Library call on recruiting). Did you know you can download these on your MP3 player and listen while you go for a walk? Work on two New Year’s resolutions at once - get some exercise and work on your business!
Respond: Post on the blog the name of the call you listened to and share what you learned and what you will incorporate in your business.
"See" you tomorrow!
Chris
I am trying to work on my "technique" when using the spray pen. I used it on two different projects. The first was on the cards for the Wings WOTG kit. I didn't have the Vineyard Berry re-inker when I did them, but I went ahead and just mixed the pearl paint and some rubbing alcohol and sprayed it on. I LOVE how it just makes everything shimmer! My customers have been looking for ways to get that shimmery spray for their papers and now I know how to teach them how to get it! :) I also used it WITH the Vineyard Berry re-inker on the banner that is part of the National Papercrafting month special. I have to admit that I really didn't like it with the Vineyard Berry re-inker - it just looked too pink. I am still going to keep practicing with it. So far, I haven't had any trouble with it clogging up. One of the days I even forgot to clean it out for several days and it was still ok.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to get a class together to teach my customers the ins and outs of Studio J. I have a membership ( and have sold one other membership) and I have been doing layouts each month since September. I LOVE it!!! It is so fast and easy and convenient! I watched both of the Studio J marketing courses and have the flyers printed out. Did you see that there is a new marquee up on the consultant website? It is about a Studio J boot camp that corporate is hosting in May in Salt Lake City. I would LOVE to be able to attend. There are some minimum qualifications in order to even be able to sign up for the course - I guess I have some new goals! :) I am going to set up several Studio J introduction workshops and I am going to offer a drawing to get people to sign up for a Studio J membership. I will hold a drawing a couple of days after my last Studio J workshop at the beginning of March for an album! Every person who purchases a 3-month membership by that date will get one entry into the drawing and every person who purchases a 12 month membership will get 3 entries. I am hoping that this will get people to really try out Studio J because I am convinced that once they do, they will be "hooked" like me! :)
I actually listened to 3 of the Listening Library calls on Recruiting: "How to Attract More Customers, Hostesses, and Consultants," "Ignite Their Fire" and "An Experience of Love". One of things that Noreen Petty said in "Ignite Their Fire" was about how we are not responsible for our teams success or failure. At first I went "huh"?, but the more she explained it the more I understood what she was talking about. It makes sense - we can present the information and be a good resource to a our team members, but we cannot change their actions or thoughts. In Casey's call, she talked about deciding a focus for the month - usually related to the Constant Campaign (ie: selling, hostess, or recruiting). That makes sense, I usually find myself at the begining of each Idea Book, setting goals to be better at recruiting, better at getting gatherings, better at making customer contacts, etc., etc., etc. I think that if I not necessarily ONLY concentrated on one aspect at a time, but scheduled out certain time frames to work on certain aspects, I wouldn't get so overwhelmed or feeling like I had failed if (when) I get behind in one area or another. I am not sure if that made any sense at all, but it does in my head!! :) I guess that really it goes back to the post on Naomi's blog about creating a chain: if I break it down into indiviual links in a chain, it is easier to measure the "length" of my chain by the number of links it took to get there rather than the overall length of the chain. :) Okay, not sure that that made anymore sense than what I already wrote, so I think that I will quit while I am ahead (or behind... (: )
I watched the Training Academy – Continuing Education – “Getting to Know Studio J” and “Marketing Studio J” continuing ed classes on the CTMH website. I plan to do a demonstration of Studio J at my first local club meeting of the year in February. I can bring out my laptop and hook it up to the TV... and demonstrate how easy it is to upload your photos for a project, drag/drop them into place, and make a few simple choices and end up with a one of a kind layout :) I've advertised Studio J before in my newsletters, but I think my club members need hands-on practice. Logging into my account, they can try it out and see how easy it is and fun!
ReplyDeleteI listened to a different training call for about 50 minutes by Kirsten McKay Smith on Direct Sales. It was a free "bonus gift" for signing up to be part of "The Mind Aware Teleseminar Series" that starts this coming Tuesday. It runs every Tuesday & Thursday for 12 weeks! I encourage you all to sign up, as it is FREE, and you can listen in live or catch it later as a download.

It includes many wonderful presenters including Karen Phelps who presented at a CTMH convention in Texas (several years ago) and Mary Christensen, who is on the CTMH listening library, which was on last week's challenge.
The best piece I took away from Kirsten McKay Smith is to set a goal to meet people everyday. Tell at least 1 person everyday about what I do, how I can help them, etc... That means I would talk to at least 365 people a year about CTMH! WOW! I think our business would benefit quite a bit if we each did that! She also had other helpful information. I think it would be worth your time!
I just watched the studioj marketing training class. I think the marketing guide will be helpful along with having the cards at gatherings. People do like to get things. ( o:
ReplyDeleteI plan on having an intro to studio j class on February 16th. I like Tera's idea about having an incentive for signing up as a member. I think I might add that to my invite. I will probably add at least one more date. The album giveaway is excellent.
Also, I would like to start the series of classes that Chris & Tera shared with us this fall. I think that would really help some people!
